This is the project summary covering progress in November 2010.
I am very pleased to say that on 19/11/109 we announced the new release of SAR and Altimeter data containing the error statistics and calibrated values, as well as the Satellite Wave Data Quality Report.
An operational data stream of NRT Altimeter data is now available on the public ftp site covering all required data streams (Envisat, Jason-1 and Jason-2). ECMWF data arrives every 6 hours and we would like to provide the L2P data to users within 1 hour of us receiving the L2 data. Our strategy is therefore to make the L2P data available within 1 hour and to add the ECMWF fields 24 hours later. A formal announcement will be made to the wave community once the SAR NRT data is available from Envisat. We aim to have this available by the end of December.
Completed test reports for the UKMO and SHOM have been made available to ESA. Logica and ESA worked together to ensure that these reports satisfied the user requirements. Logica have updated section 6 of the Requirements Baseline to reflect the discussions with the UKMO and SHOM and this has also been made available to ESA for review.
An abstract has been submitted for an oral presentation to the Third International Workshop on Advances in the Use of Historical Marine Climate Data (MARCDAT-III).
